Dixon Raines was established in October 2004 by David Dixon and Katy Raines, two of the leading experts in Customer Relationship Management (CRM), relationship marketing and fundraising in the UK, and currently comprises four highly skilled consultants.

The consultancy works with cultural and other not-for-profit organisations to generate new, long-term income through a truly integrated approach to customer relationships, often considering both marketing and fundraising objectives.

Current and past clients include Norfolk Arts Partnership, the Belgrade Theatre Coventry, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Keele University, Royal Shakespeare Company, Welsh National Opera, and Dance Consortium, amongst many others.

Sarah Gee (Managing Consultant)

Sarah Gee has been Managing Consultant of DixonRaines Ltd since June 2006, having previously acted as part-time Senior Consultant. Prior to that, Sarah worked in a variety of roles in the music business, most recently as Director of Communications for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

An erstwhile hornplayer, Sarah is a regular trainer and speaker on marketing, branding and fundraising matters in the UK and overseas. She is currently Chairman of Birmingham Future and is founding Director of Birmingham Professional Diversity.

She also sits on the West Midlands panel of Arts & Business's New Partners awards and is an advisor to the University of Central England's PR course. IN 2004 Sarah was elected as a fellow of the British American Project, an initiative designed to establish stronger trans-Atlantic relationships across both Public and Private sectors.

David Dixon (Director)

David Dixon is recognised as one of the UK's leading arts fundraisers, specialising in particular in long-term income generation from audiences and visitors. Since 1993, when he set up his first consultancy, he has worked with a multitude of national and regional cultural and heritage organisations and is a frequent speaker at conferences around Europe and a contributor to professional journals and books.

David was a Senior Fundraising Manager with Oxfam before joining the Oxford Playhouse as Development Director. He founded the Phone Room Ltd in 1997 and remains Chairman of that company, as well as being a Board Member of ABL Cultural Consulting. He founded DixonRaines wtih Katy Raines in 2004.

Katy Raines (Director)

Katy Raines has spent the last 13 years working in senior marketing roles in regional performing arts organisations. Her most recent position was as Director of Marketing and Development at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Katy is known for her work on relationship marketing, customer loyalty and branding, and has been a regular speaker at conferences and events, both in the Cultural and Higher Education sectors. She also led a re-branding project for Durham University, from where she received an MBA in 2005.

Charlotte Platt (Senior Consultant)

Charlotte Platt joined DixonRaines in March 2005, from the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester, where she had been since 1992.

Her experience includes creating and growing Corporate Membership and Sponsorship programmes to the value of over £1/2m, Trust and Foundation Applications, Capital Appeals, Major Gifts and Legacy programmes. She also has extensive experience of major event management from sourcing sponsors and writing realistic budgets to setting ticket prices and implementing marketing plans.

She established the organisation which is now the Arts & Business Development Forum, a national training and networking forum for arts fundraisers across the country, and sits on the regional panel for the Arts & Business New Partners Scheme.
